Wedding Photographer for today's Creative Couples:
I've been a photographer since the spring of 2005, when our first of now four children arrived; trading in my rowing career with boat & blades to a camera & lens (Canon). Never looked back since, although I did return to the river once or twice. Since this time my camera bag has grown, alongside my photographic ambitions. As an established Wedding Photographer, I utilise my skills and experience on the heart racing pace of a wedding day - getting it right first time! Preparation is like most things, EVERYTHING, as long as you prepare for most eventualities and have the confidence in the bag with the right equipment, you cannot go too far wrong.
In addition to my Wedding Photography career, I also enjoy shooting Family Portraits - having a young family myself, I appreciate the value of time treasured moments and the fun times shared in these shoots. Photography is a funny business, I have found other fellow photographers in one of two camps: A/ Supportive & Great mates or B/ Ignorant!
From shooting a Rowing World Championship in 2006, I rapidly found the prem-professionals in the majority 'B' category, but as time has gone on I've met some great colleagues and new friends. I recently attended the Photoshop World 2011 in Las Vegas, which was an experience 'God Bless America' but what a good time everyone had, if you can afford to attend, I suggest you do (although the Expo section is not a touch on the UK's Focus show at the NEC).
I've met some of my best & closest mates within photography, Gareth Davies is the top of the class. I can highly recommend the use if GDS Studio in Wokingham, Berkshire - a large, spacious studio complete with ProPhoto lights and equipment.
I continue to shoot Weddings as this is where the passion and heart rate rests, I like to shoot rowing events where possible and love developing my work in the studio too.
All the best all - keep the focus.
