Today I was out and about at the closest shopping mall when I noticed an American flag blowing majestically in the wind with a beautiful blue sky behind it. Then I noticed the reflection of said flag in the glass above the entry way to the mall. No sooner did I take two photographs when I was told by a very friendly security guard that I wasn't allowed to take photo's without prior permission.

This makes me a little sad, but I guess understandable given the worlds heightened security awareness. I guess I'll just have to find other lunchtime haunts.

I feel like I should use the 500px blog feature. Just because it's there. Just because I have that option. I'm not sure that I really have very much to say, other than I am a serious punk-arse newbie as far as photography is concerned. I mean, I took a few photography courses in my early twenties and I even learned how to develop my own film and prints but it never really stuck.

I've always enjoyed taking photo's and I think for the most part I have a fairly decent eye, but I have MUCH to learn about the technicalities involved with GOOD image-taking. I'm hoping that some of the information I've been learning sticks.

I am a new addition to 500px, thanks mostly to some AMAZING photographers that are very active on Google+. They have inspired me to pick up my camera again, and the images I have seen uploaded to this site in the past week are beautiful. I feel intimated for sure. However, I will continue to upload what I consider to be my best photographs and I hope that they get better ...
