Scot Gillespie

Long time ago I was a Fashion and Editorial Photographer with a self-belief and matching chip on my shoulder that could see me play the L’enfant terrible card in the early '80s, to an industry audience that just loved the role.

As time moved on, my ego eclipsed all, and I trudged off into the distance hardly touching a camera at all, never mind meaningfully, for about 20 odd years.

That family based request that sends shivers down seasoned pros spines; “can you do my wedding form me”, meant that I had to actually buy a capable camera, and I discovered that I actually enjoy taking pictures again.

For those with an interest on my petzval images these have been covered in the October 2017 issue of Landscape Photography Magazine (https://landscapephotographymagazine.com/2017/who-needs-sharpness/).

I use 500px more as a sounding board, than a professional tool. And, as such I try to keep it down to just a batch of the latest images - don't worry if you have liked something I don't usually delete these I just take them out of the Public folder, so the links should still work.

I used to respond by Following any other 500pxers who liked my photos, but I have hit the limit (and then some) that 500px allows - but I still randomly visit the pages of those that have liked my work, where I will usually apply likes relative to that users work (rather than to any value/aesthetic I would apply to myself).
