When I grow up...

Published October 1st, 2012

The other day, the family and I went to a local country store to pick up a few pumpkins for the scariest day of the year. As we drove around the gravel driveway toward the store, this large red tractor was sitting right out front with a cart filled with pumpkins. The tractor, though, looked vaguely familiar (obviously, it's a tractor) but more so because we had been given a toy from Grandpa that looked very similar. It turns out that it was an exact duplicate...a Farmall tractor.

I couldn't miss the opportunity to snap a few shots. After we got back home, I grabbed the little toy tractor, rushed back to the country store, and got right to shooting. I knew I wanted to take a "when I grow up" type of could I not! Bringing toys to life is always a fun thing to do.

In the end, I think it turned at well and I'm happy with the result. In hindsight, I wish I had turned the toy tractor around facing toward the bigger a little boy looking up at his father. In fact, I did have a couple shots with the toy tractor leaning against the front wheels looking up, but I ultimately settled on this one.

When I Grow Up

The toy tractor from Grandpa...just so happens to be the exact replica of the one at the front of the country store. What luck!

The Usual Suspects

It's lineup time and these pumpkins aren't getting away without getting carved up in the process.
