A snowball's hope in...

It's a cold, overcast day in Perth - a day for warm jumpers, scarves, beanies and hot coffees - but the light outside if just beautiful. Soft, subtle, diffused - it's ideal light for outdoor portraiture!

However, I'll be shooting indoors today, in Up on High Studio in Fremantle. I'm running a personalised workshop for two Perth photographers who would like to get into studio-based photography, particularly portraiture. We'll be covering everything from exposure to lighting setup, lighting ratios, lighting techniques, modifiers and even the inverse square rule. It's been a while since I ran a class on studio photography, so I'm really looking forward to it.

There seems to be a resurgence of interest in studio photography here in Perth -- I have a couple who have signed up for a personalised workshop on studio fine art nude next week; then we have our studio fashion photography workshop the week after.
