ShutterTales: Here's one for my dad

Published April 2nd, 2012

I took this shot while I was having a break from a photo assignment in Bondi. Since I had to move my car from the expired parking spot, I drove up to the golf range up in the hills of Bondi Beach where I found this lone tree surrounded by the amazing greenery of the golf course.

I thought I could compose a good one out from this solitary subject from where I was standing. It's a fenced area and I wasn't sure if it's restricted from trespassers. However I managed I got past the fence through a small opening enough to squeeze myself in to the area to get a better vantage point. When I was composing my shot, I already something in my mind that I would dedicate the work to my father in celebration of Father's day. He's our fruit-bearing tree from day 1.

Last night, I uploaded it in my gallery in RedBubble website and was surprised with strings and strings of comments from people. One asked my permission to re-post the photo in their group. It's another reason for me to go out there and get more good photos to share to the world.

Santi's Tree

I was like a flimsy twig clinging on to bigger and stronger branches. Leaves covered my to shield me from the scorching sun and destructive winds until the twigs are strong enough to become mighty branches. This work is for my father who’s been a great inspiration to me.
