Steve Bottoms

Having spent years working 90-hour work weeks in the development and software engineering field, I reached a point of burn-out (like many) where I just *had* to find a way to decompress. I found that hiking and backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, namely Yosemite National Park and Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Parks. I immediately broke out my dear brother's Canon AE1 camera, and never looked back. Since then, nature photography has been a driving force in my life, and my "day job" only pays for my photo adventures. In 2003 I moved to Reno, Nevada, with its extremely close proximity to both snow (the Sierra) and high desert (the Great Basin region), I found there were things to shoot every day, just by stepping out my front door.
