Street shoot ..... in the rain

Published October 13th, 2011

Well..... what can I say, never shot in the rain before. Natalie ( the model ) arranged a street shoot at 4am in my home City of Ely, UK. Why 4 am well the plan was to have the freedom to roam the deserted streets at that time in the morning and make some creative shots without being disturbed. Unfortunately plans change as they often do..... the UK was going through as very unusual spell of abnormally warm weather for the time of year and Natalie and I had planned for a very pleasant 4am start and shoot through to the sun rise at around 6;50am.
We had both decided that we would shoot regardless of what happened with the weather ..... eeeekkkkk well peering out of the window at 3.45a, and seeing rain was not a friendly sight.
But we were determined to shoot so I unpacked all my gear and wrapped everything in plastic bags, camera, lenses, speed-lights, batteries, reflectors etc and we headed out.

Turns out we both got soaked to the skin ..... cold.....and very tired but it was worth it some great shots were born from perseverance and we are very glad we did ....... would I shot again in the poring rain hell yes ....
