My trip to Fuerteventura

Published November 29th, 2013

In November 2013 I couldn't stand it anymore...I not only had to take some weeks of from work, I really had to leave all it behind and see something new. My last real holidays where about 8 years ago. Since the last time on some sunny beaches was even some years more years ago than that, I decided to go and make a trip to Fuerteventura.

As a kid I already have been to Gran Canaria and Teneriffa, so I thought Fuerteventura is a good idea. And I wasn't wrong about that.

Fuerteventura is a wonderful Island and a great place for holidays. But I have to say, in a positive meaning, that you can’t compare it to the other “normally” known places in Spain, like Mallorca or the south coast of the main land.

Fuerteventura is a place where you can relax on endless beaches or have lots of fun while doing some sports activities. Fuerteventura is well known over the world as a great place for all kinds of water sports especially surfing, windsurfing and kite surfing with world cup runs every year. Du ...

Spider in the neighborhood

Published October 14th, 2012

Sometomes you don't have to go depp in the woods to find awsome spiders and insects. Cross Spiders for example are often found in civilized areas, mostly near the water an some nightly lightsource. Like most other orb-weaving spiders the tend to stay very calm in the midle of the net or somewhere at the rimm of it. Even if you get very close with the lense.

I have the luck to have one of them just a few housses down the street. She is sitting there now fpr quiet a long time, because it is an very exposed place. Right under the top of a cornerpost af the houseentrance just on hiphight where people are passign by all the day. The topplate of the post gives her a small overleap where she can hide if it gets to stressy and the whole thing stands direct under a streetlight. Even the winds couldn't get her to move, because they are pushing loads of small insects of all sorts into her net.

So all you sometimes need for awsome pictures of fascinating insects is a camera, a tripod and open ey ...
