Caught on Film

Sometimes I get bored of digital photography and I go running back to film. I think film photography is still beautiful and as creative (if not more creative than) digital photography.

I was on my way home from down town and I had a disposable point and shoot with me on the streetcar. I would just hold the camera up to the window and press the shutter button, didn't bother looking through the view finder. It was all about having fun that day.

A shy



Not quite a violet

Dreams of being gargantuan

Dreams of being heard

Past her front door

Fear and uncertainty

Clutter her path

Her sense of humour

Her laugh

Only known to those closest

To her

Silly and obnoxious

Seem to suit her best

Yet she hides

She has nothing to lose

And everything to gain

One step out the front door

Is all it’s going to take.

Inspired by: Me. This is my self portrait.

I suffer from depression. It can make doing my job, as a photographer, really difficult. I made this image while I was down and trying to get myself to do anything besides staring at the wall. I like the way this image turned out, even though I felt awful and completely unproductive.
