My name is Stian Andreas Ulriksen. I fell in love with photography at a young age (not that I’m not young anymore, I’m only half way to 44), and it has been an obsession since then. It is a great pleasure to capture the essence of an object or subject, and record that special moment in time.
At the moment I am pursuing my Bachelors degree in Business Administration at The University of Oklahoma, so this is the reason to why photography has been pushed a little to the side lately, as I find studying a little bit more important. Nevertheless, I am doing my best to get out there and seize the moments as they appear.
I grew up with a dad who is an amazing hobby photographer (website is unfortunately in Norwegian). As a kid I used to play around with his cameras as soon as I got an opportunity, and as I grew older I started to get it, and it just became more and more interesting as I played. The first camera I had was the Canon IXUS, unfortunately I lost all the pictures I have taken until July 13, 2006 (15 years old)… I loved that camera, it didn’t have any advanced features or anything, but that didn’t matter cause I didn’t know much about taking pictures. One of the first things that fascinated me about photography was the «mystery» of Depth of Field. When I started borrowing one of my dad’s DSLRs, at Rally Sweden, I started to learn more and more and I started to see the enormous difference between a point and shoot and a DSLR. It was here it all started…
