My name is Laurent and I was born in Paris, France. After growing up in Versailles (not in the palace but in the town just outside Paris!), I moved to the USA to make a childhood dream come true and attend an American university. Today, many, many moons later, I am still here enjoying life in Scottsdale, Arizona as a Photographer, Graphic Designer and dōTERRA Wellness Advocate.
In college, I studied advertising, marketing, public relations, photojournalism & communication. I’ve always been a very visual person and have always enjoyed photography, drawing, multimedia techniques and graphic design. I’ve also always enjoyed traveling and discovering other cultures as well as being active with sports (mostly tennis, volley-ball and skiing).
Like many photographers, I became interested in photography at a young age. My first camera was a Polaroid when I was 7 or 8 years old and I loved taking pictures of my family. In my teen years, I moved on to a 35mm Nikon F501 camera that my parents offered to me for Christmas and I used Paris and its street life as my canvas to practice my skills. While in high school, I also started taking pictures at nearby Roland-Garros during the French Open of tennis whenever I could. This is when I started selling my first pictures and when I started thinking of photography as something that could eventually become more than “just” a hobby. College provided me some formal training and additional experience in other visual and multimedia techniques.
In 2007, I finally decided to jump in and create Studio Laurent to combine my passions into a creative photography and graphic design studio.
So far, my photographic adventures and assignments have taken me to beautiful destinations in France, Italy, the Czech Republic, The Caribbean and Mexico. I have also traveled extensively in the Indian Ocean region, other european locations and more than half of the USA. I am bilingual French/English and have working knowledge of Spanish. I am currently based in Scottsdale, Arizona and as you can tell, will travel anywhere in the world.
In my spare time, along with caring for my beautiful daughter Chloé who was born in early 2014 with a Vein of Galen Malformation and who has kept me quite busy recently, I enjoy playing tennis several times a week, off-roading in my Jeep around the American Southwest whenever I can, cooking or trying new restaurants, and supporting the Phoenix Suns NBA basketball team every chance I get.
I would love it if you left me a few words so I know you stopped by, that would make my day!
