Robert Marcus Klump
Born 1971, I initially aspired to become a songwriter as well as sound engineer; photography literally only played “second fiddle”, even though I was in a photography club and had my own dark room for years. Music always came first.
But now things have changed considerably within a short period of time. Since summer 2010 I've been almost exclusively spending my leisure time on photography and – albeit only as a “consumer” - of the visual arts. I am convinced that as a photographer I can learn a lot from the Old Masters as regards image layout, colour and choice of motiv in particular. This influence is visible in my pictures.
My photographic style can probably be best described as “experimental”. By that I mean on the one hand the use of analogue effect films - like infrared or “Revolog” -, on the other hand the development process – especially “cross-processing” - as well as the use of (colour) filters. In addition I am applying photographic techniques which I consider unusual and that I partly invented myself such as “organic random photography” (or “images of the subconscious”), "fotocubism" and "caleidoscopedia". However, I never work with “prefix” special effects.
In December 2012 eleven of my “Images Of The Subconscious” were exhibited at “artspace191” in Vienna. In February 2014 ten of my photographic experiments were displayed in London as part of the “ArtFix 1st experience”. In April 2014, nine pictures were shown at the "Kunstkanal" in Vienna during the "Q202 Freie Kunst- und Kulturinitiative".
