I am an amateur photographer with a rekindled passion for simplicity and a lack of contrivance.
Since the excitement of my first real camera in 1967 (a Minolta SRT101 match needle), and the joy of the darkroom, in the intervening years I have allowed technology to drive and dictate my photographs. I have conceded to the camera artistic choices in all but the composition. As a result, over time, the quality of my images has greatly diminished.
While I have sporadically captured exceptional images in the past, in an attempt to return to basics and refocus on the present, some of the images posted here were captured with a Fujifilm X100. After a brief love affair with the X100 we both went our ways in favor of a Leica M9. Simplicity itself. But, simple to learn, a lifetime to master.
More recently I have added a Fujifilm X-Pro1 with 3 Fujinon primes and a moderate zoom. I believe it combines the best of the X100 and many of the benefits of the M9. The images are superb.
I invite constructive criticism of my shots, as I am keen to improve.
Thanks for taking the time to view my work.
