I am an amateur photographer living in the North East of England. I have developed my lifelong passion for the outdoors from a very early age. I have always respected nature and the natural elements while always following the rules. The coastline of Northumberland is a fabulous place to visit, it’s very dramatic and beautiful but also barren in places. This is what makes it particularly special to me.
The weather has a huge influence on landscape photography so when you combine the two and get it right the results can be spectacular. I am always trying to photograph something in a different perspective and composition. The rule of thirds is a well trusted and proven rule to use in landscape photography but rules can be broken. I hope to create a unique style in my photographs and would like to be recognised when a picture is displayed.
I began taking photographs in 2003 whilst holidaying on the Island of Mull. On one of my many visits to Mull I had the pleasure of working with a professional photographer. He gave me the guidance I needed while also showing me great techniques to use with the camera. The Isle of Mull is a great place to photograph as the light and scenery are magical. I hope to holiday on the Isle of Mull for many years to come.
I started with a Nikon D40 introduction kit then got the bug and added lots of pieces of equipment, as you do. I upgraded to a Nikon D300 then eventually the Nikon D800 36mp. I use Nikon lenses from 16 mm to 400mm for photography and I also use Lee ND filters while always shooting in raw format. I have always used Nikon equipment; however I have nothing against other makes as Nikon just works for me.
I proudly remember the first picture I sold online. It’s a great feeling to know that someone is willing to pay for the work you have created. I am always looking to improve my work so any feedback would be appreciated. You can also follow me on Twitter-@TerryEyre
I hope you enjoy my photographs.
