I was born and raised in Northern Michigan in the 70's & 80's on a steady stream of movies, comic books, and fashion magazines. My imagination was my solace during long winters and the isolation of growing up in a rural setting without many nearby friends. Upon graduating high school and becoming a legal adult, I fled Michigan to explore the world and wound up travelling the country by bus, ending up in New Orleans, California, Ann Arbor, and many other places I can barely remember before settling in NYC.
New York was the place I finally found people like me and I comfortably settled in for a decade where I pursued my love of storytelling in the form of writing, making low budget movies and honing my photography skills.
I have spent my professional life managing video stores and coffee shops to make ends meet, but have also been a reptile and snake handler in a pet store, a nanny several times, had multiple cooking and waiting table gigs, and have managed a skydiving phone center.
I have written numerous screenplays and am also working on a book about my life as a free spirited dervish.
Several years ago in California, after years of photographing beautiful landscapes and random models, I met a woman I became addicted to photographing, and realized she was the only person I wanted to capture. Liz La Point became my muse, and we became best friends, lovers, and creative partners and have worked on projects together daily since we met. We are married, have a son, and continue to make art together. She is my life's work! Liz is working on two books, features art and writing on her web site, and we have put out three books together, sell prints of our art, and have had two art shows of our work.
Prints and books are available through my site devoted to her, www.lizlapoint.com
I am trying this site out because flickr lost the community aspect I once enjoyed. If I stick around I will upload ten years worth of landscape work, work with various models, and conceptual art.
