Thomas Wright is a UK based freelance photographer. He grew up as a child in Middlesbrough, the north east of England, before moving to South Yorkshire where he still resides.
Thomas found photography as a medium of expressing his vision and documenting everyday life using disposable cameras while he briefly lived in the French Alps. When Thomas moved back to England he decided to continue with photography and enrolled on the Visual Communication degree course at Doncaster University Center. And in 2010 he attained a 2nd Class BA Hons in Visual Communication.
Much of his work primarily focuses around documentary projects on the UK landscape. Inspired by the north east's industrial landscape, and the New Topographic photographers of the 1970's, who photographed man-made change on North America's wilderness. Thomas' photography is creative and conceptual.
Images from Thomas' college award winning project, 'Durham Coal Coast', have recently been printed in the PDN magazine book 'One Life'.
