I am a partner in a small London based IT Consultancy firm, which you can find at www.jgsys.co.uk. I spend my days working in school IT departments coming up with simple solutions to complex problems. As a way to relax I started getting into photography and hope someday to “go pro” if I give up my day job. I am an utter nerd, and love hacking things, video games and movies. I also love looking a gorgeous typography and website designs. If you want to get in contact about anything else, you can either contact me on twitter @thejonson or if you can’t say what you want in 140 characters or less, then you can email me at thejonson dot com

New Toy...Kodak Play>Sport

Published September 14th, 2011

Just got my hands on a Kodak Play>Sport and a Kodak Play>Touch, the first isa small HD video camera that is waterproof and shockproof, whilst the second is not waterproof, but has a touch screen interface.

Technically they look like a good replacement for the discontinued Flip video cameras, i'll mainly be using the Sport as it is waterproof, it takes reasonable stills, and fairly good video, in either 1080p/30fps, 720p/60fps, 720p/30fps, WVGA (iPad Compatible)

It also has a reasonable lens for such a device f/2.8 at 3.9mm, very similar to that of the iPhone 4.

I'll try to post some images when I get it in the water.

Off to the pool...

Just getting started

Published June 17th, 2011

Just paid to go "awesome" and I'm still finding my way about. But 500px already looks 10 times what flickr was.

I hope that 500px expands the feature set soon with some APIs, and Plugins for other applications. I'd love to directly upload photo's from Aperture.
