I am a partner in a small London based IT Consultancy firm, which you can find at I spend my days working in school IT departments coming up with simple solutions to complex problems. As a way to relax I started getting into photography and hope someday to “go pro” if I give up my day job. I am an utter nerd, and love hacking things, video games and movies. I also love looking a gorgeous typography and website designs. If you want to get in contact about anything else, you can either contact me on twitter @thejonson or if you can’t say what you want in 140 characters or less, then you can email me at thejonson dot com

New Toy...Kodak Play>Sport

Published September 14th, 2011

Just got my hands on a Kodak Play>Sport and a Kodak Play>Touch, the first isa small HD video camera that is waterproof and shockproof, whilst the second is not waterproof, but has a touch screen interface.

Technically they look like a good replacement for the discontinued Flip video cameras, i'll mainly be using the Sport as it is waterproof, it takes reasonable stills, and fairly good video, in either 1080p/30fps, 720p/60fps, 720p/30fps, WVGA (iPad Compatible)

It also has a reasonable lens for such a device f/2.8 at 3.9mm, very similar to that of the iPhone 4.

I'll try to post some images when I get it in the water.

Off to the pool...

Just getting started

Published June 17th, 2011

I hope that 500px expands the feature set soon with some APIs, and Plugins for other applications. I'd love to directly upload photo's from Aperture.
