Rock Mot Rus 2013

Published March 28th, 2013

Rock Mot Rus is a tradition on Andenes. It started up december 17th 1983 and has grown from a small gathering of a few band, to something big. It's a weekend of music in all genres. Hip-hop, rock, heavy metal... you name it. It gives amateurbands the possibilty to perform in front of a large crowd on a big stage with professional sound and lighting. At the end a jury picks a winner who's given the opportunity to realease a record.

All this happens late at night. They play from 12 in the evenening, out through the morning and keeps on until the afternoon. Several hundred volunteers work during the weekend ensuring that people get food, places to sleep and so on.

In addition to the amateur bands, professional bands are hired to play both friday and saturday. Artists like Morten Harket, a-ha, Go Go Gorilla, The September When, Dimmu Borgir and Satyricon have played on this stage.
