(Las Vegas, NV) – With Nellis Air Force Base as a backdrop, and perhaps an inspiration, Kasey Kahne blasted his Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet Impala around the Las Vegas Motor Speedway to a new track qualifying record in winning pole position for Sunday’s Kobalt Tools 400.
The Enumclaw, Washington native spoiled hometown Las Vegan Kyle Busch’s claim to the No. 1 spot by clocking a 190.456 miles per hour performance, four hundredths faster than Busch’s run (190.041).
The previous qualifying record was held by Matt Kenseth set last year at 188.884. Fifteen drivers surpassed that time Friday afternoon, in taking advantage of premium track conditions and weather.
It was Kahne’s 23rd career pole in Sprint Cup. Though he is 32nd in points on the young season (two races), Kahne is considered by some to be a serious contender for the 2012 Sprint Cup Series title.

I'm not a big blogger, so with that said, here is my first blog.
Tonight I shot a high school basket ball game that was the season ending game for Pine View. It was also senior night. Enter Pine View's #11 Skyler Marshall. Skyler has some challenges but that hasn't held him back from his love of basketball. Tonight Skyler got the call to start his final game as a senior.
My high 5 goes out to the fans, coaching staff and players that have taken Skyler under their wings and accepted him. Tonight it was a players dream to represent his team on the floor in front of a packed Panther arena.
