Todd Roy

Born in 1969, my Father loved photography but I didn't get into it until I turned 46 years old. I painted houses all my life, so I try my hand at painting on canvas, did that for a few years. All my painting were for the most part a Van Gogh like style. Was fun, I enjoy it. But when I moved to the mountains of Tennessee, I was fascinated by the beauty of nature and wanted to capture it. I knew I was not the technical painter to make it look realistic, that takes lots of talent and schooling, so I decided to take up photography. I did a lot of reading on the subject and watching a lot of videos on YouTube to decide what to buy to get started. I decided on the Nikon d810 with the 14-24mm lens. Of course now I have more equipment. But now I'm enjoying the adventure and would like to share it with those who love the beauty of the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.
