Hi my name is Tom Truong, but also known to be Tommy.
I'm an accredited Australian professional photographer (and videographer), with the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photography) and have been working full time freelance for the past 10 years. My main areas of focus is in weddings and events, but I do also offer my services in other areas, such as portraiture and as a stills photographer for film productions, and don't mine dabbing into other areas, as I enjoy the challenge and have a passion in photography and creativity.
My photography journey takes me back when I was about 8 years old. With my hard earn pocket money which I saved up, I brought my first camera, a Hanimax/Fujifilm 35mm film with a fixed lens. It was more than a toy to me, it was an obsession that drew my life long passion into photography as a career. I still remember, that I was family's official photography everywhere I go... during my later years in high school I studied photography, and then continued on with an advanced Arts unit and specialising in Photography. My second joy, computing help fused me into a world of digital imaging back in the days when digital was not a definition to the general public. Oh, Yes, those was the good time of experimenting, and I remember the long process of getting the computer on screen. I would capture my picture in black and white, have it developed in the school's lab and scanning it using my black and white handheld scanner into the Electronic Arts' Deluxe Paint package, and all done with an 8Bit computer, amazing! It was the only proper process of analogue to digital conversion available to the mainstream public, at the time and it was from those moments I knew that the future was digital.
I grew my passion from a hobby into a career some 15 years ago, in fact I really had lost count as it had been transitional for me as most of those years it was really on a part time basis, which have grew into a full time profession, today.
