Traywick Anderson

Queue David McCullough voiceover… I never know what to say when asked "tell me about yourself". I've had a driven passion for this art since childhood. Would take my dad's Fuji 35mm on field trips, all the kids wanted copies of my shots. I did it because I loved it, and that was the only reason that mattered. This would become a key component of a lifelong passion. As age passes, the love didn't. A degree in engineering, fatherhood, work, travel. I did and still do love film. Being very technology oriented, ironically it was that love of film that kept me from migrating to digital until the early 2000's. First digital camera was a Sony with Zeiss glass, memory sticks and all, always loved good glass. I transitioned to a DSLR in the mid 2000's, enjoyed many years with that Nikon. Eventually I would stumble upon the world of rangefinders, first a M3 as a way to reconnect to film. As life took over, found photography was always a way I could express myself and document what I was seeing. Often finding ways to speak through the lens when words fell short. I find it interesting to look back on my work and see the style, the patterns emerging, unconsciously, and have enjoyed the maturing that life has on one's art. As with making the transition to digital, I was slow to embrace social media and did not start exploring until 2014, more pulled into this world by my daughters. The positive feedback is instrumental to teaching, encouraging, feeding the passion. Have been completely humbled by the response and have enjoyed the sharing and learning this medium promotes. In a word, "grateful". So when I look back at the original question... my bio? I'm a lifelong photographer.
