Tyson Rininger

Since 1989, I've had the incredible honor of covering most aspects of photography including Corporate Portraiture, Large Format Fine Art, Studio Imagery, Motorsports, Aviation and more.

Currently, I'm a contributing photographer for multiple agencies including the International Council of Air Shows (ICAS) and work with nearly two-dozen magazines on a repeat basis. I have had such incredible assignments including coverage of helicopter operations aboard a U.S. aircraft carrier, documenting the world's fastest piston driven aircraft; RareBear, and the first civilian spaceflight (SpaceShipOne) for Air & Space Smithsonian Magazine. Since 2004 I've worked with the U.S. Navy Legacy Flight Program for the Department of Defense, the first ever Joint Red Flag exercise at Nellis AFB for Combat Aircraft Magazine and the 100th Anniversary of Flight celebration in Dayton, Ohio for the International Council of Air Shows. In 2010, I became the first civilian photographer to provide the US Navy Blue Angels Demonstration Team with their annual promotional lithograph. My choice of vocation has been noted as being so unique that Fox News aired an extensive interview in October 2004 and was noted as being one of the most dangerous jobs in Tom Jones' book, "Risky Living".

I've been fortunate to have my photos and articles published in numerous magazines including multiple covers for AirShows Magazine, World Airshow News, PilotMag, Warbird Digest, Aircraft Illustrated, Aviation Week & Space Technology, Pacific Flyer, Loop Magazine, InFlight USA, Air & Space Smithsonian and others. Additional publications I currently work with include Volare, Jets Monthly, Combat Aircraft Magazine, Aeroplane, EAA and AOPA's family of publications, Flight Journal, and others. Besides publications, many more of my images have been used for advertising purposes by aviators, aircraft manufacturers, aircraft supply centers, aviation brokers and the world's top FBO's.

In addition to editorial and commercial work, I am an image provider for Check-6 Aviation Photography and World Picture News. My self-authored publications include, "Red Flag, Air Combat for the 21st Century", "F-15 Eagle at War" and "The Art of Flight". In addition, I've had the opportunity of providing custom publications to various air shows and private events in an effort to assist with improved sponsorship efforts.

When not working behind a camera, I represent Apple, Inc. as Monterey County's Photography Business Consultant for small business owners and photographers intending on learning more about Apple products. Since 1996, I have been both a contract and volunteer photographer for the Monterey Bay Aquarium. To keep things exciting, in 2009 I had the true pleasure of working with pilot, Walt Pierce and Wing Walker, Jenny Forsythe in making up the third member of the "Double Trouble" wing walking team assuming the right wing position.
