Uta Theile was born in Leipzig, Germany, in 1975, and grew up in Potsdam. Since her early years she was very interested in arts. With fifteen she discovered her passion for photography and spent hours in the darkroom developing her black and white photos. A project for young people was the opportunity for an exhibition of her early works. In 1995, she moved to Hamburg to continue her photography work in the “Chicken Studio.” In 1996 she was hired as an assistant graphic designer for the German ARD broadcasting network. In 1997 she worked with “Studio Hamburg” and “Telefilm Saar” as apprentice lighting technician and second assistant camera operator for the production of two feature-length films.
She moved to Italy, Cinque Terre, 1997 as she fell in love with her future husband and the beautiful landscape. She started to document Italian traditions and the beauty of the landscape interpreted by her personal view. After the wonderful experience of growing up her two children she concentrated again on photography and documented the life of the fishermen publishing the book “The Art of Fishing” with following exhibitions of her reportage.
Getting more interested in portrait photography trying to capture the essence and uniqueness of the person and the special moment, she prefers to photograph her subjects in a natural, story telling and emotional way. In the last years she took part in various photographic workshops to improve her skills.
Her ambition as photographer is to create images that capture the poetry of light in a special moment lead by intuition and emotion.
