Virgil C. Robinson

Virgil C. Robinson was born and reared in Houston, Texas where he graduated from S. P. Waltrip High School and attended Sam Houston State University and the University of Houston. He has always harbored a passion for architecture and the arts, including photography and music and live theater. He is a self taught photographer and enjoys exploring new ways in which to shot and present Houston's historic sites and buildings from the camera lens. His work has been published in line magazines and local newspapers. "I want people to see my photographs of Houston 100 years from now and get a sense and of how the city looked, and how the people felt about themselves and the region along the upper Texas Gulf Coast". He is a fourth generation Houstonion and is proud of his family's heritage and contributions to the city's growth and development. He watched a sleepy town of 300,000 grow into the nation's 4th largest city. His father owned a concrete construction company and that afforded him a first hand chance to witness and experience the development and growth of Houston and the surrounding area. The exposure also kindled his interest and love for architecture and he utilizes this background to create a mosaic of diverse and colorful photos of historic and innovative architecture in the Houston area.
