Lawrence Goldman

Lawrence (Larry) Goldman has been taking photographs for nearly sixty years. His interest in photography began at the age of eleven when his parents bought him a box camera. Later Larry studied with renowned photographers Ansel Adams and Pete Turner. He worked as a professional photographer for many years and though he is now retired, he is still actively taking photographs for his own pleasure. Larry's photographs have appeared in magazines, corporate brochures, corporate annual reports, calendars, travel brochures, and books. More recently he has contributed photographs and articles to a number of photoblogs.

Some of Larry’s past clients include the Southern California Automobile Association (Westways Magazine), Sunset Magazine, Los Angeles Magazine, Orange County Business Magazine, The Huntington Library, Southern Pacific Railroad, Evergreen Airlines, Boy Scouts of America, American Windparks Inc. and the City of Los Angeles Department of Airports. He is a past member of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) Southern California Chapter. His stock photos were marketed for many years by After Image Inc. and Tony Stone International agencies.

Like every photographer, Larry has a unique vision and distinctive style. His photographs incorporate the use of bold and vivid colors and he utilizes strong graphic design elements. After years of shooting only film, Larry bought his first point-and-shoot digital camera in 2003, he purchased his first DSLR in 2008 and has upgraded his cameras and equipment several times.

Larry says: “Since retiring I always have a camera with me or nearby. I don't limit myself to any single photographic genre. I welcome you to take a photographic journey with me and to share my vision of the world as you browse through my images. I hope you will enjoy viewing them as much as I have enjoyed taking them. My philosophy today is the same as its always been, I believe that great images are produced in the brain and by the eye of the photographer, not by his equipment."

Prints of all of the photographs displayed here are available for purchase at my web site All of the photographs are copyrighted.

Larry shoots with Nikon Digital SLR cameras, Nikon and Tamron lenses.
